So you think you’re smarter than a Regional Manager?

While trolling the web for educational tools to use in my seminars or workshops, I come across some really fun stuff sometimes (well, depending on your idea of fun, that is…).

Take, for example, the Universal Rental Car Pricing Simulation at the Harvard Business for Educators website. It’s not unlike a strategy game, in which you need to take decisions based on the data available and the situations that are unfolding. This online simulation is meant to be used as an educational tool to teach the principles of pricing in a dynamic management environment.

My name is Peter Vogopoulos, Licensed Professional Business Coach. I help business owners succeed by working with them individually via unique advisory programs that are neither consulting nor seminars. Typically referred to as coaching, it provides ongoing dialogue and continual support.

Coaching implies a different sort of relationship than consulting or facilitating. Typically, a coach will meet with the owner three times per month and work with the owner on a wide variety of actions and tasks that may include creating strategy, planning, applying and practicing new skills, implementing change and tracking progress. Consulting usually features a narrower scope and a limited time engagement and seminars do not reinforce ongoing learning when you return home.
